NetSpeedMonitor is a utility for Windows-based operating systems to monitor ongoing Internet connection speeds and measure data usage. The program displays both downstream and upstream data speeds for a single network connection. After installation, a small horizontal window in the bottom taskbar continuously displays the amount of data being used and the speed in both directions. Internet customers are able to confirm that the connection speeds received through their Internet service provider are reasonably consistent. The utility also provides the ability to measure data usage over various periods.
NetSpeedMonitor is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Server 2003. With some additional effort, it will work with Windows 8.
